to impress are the spectacular volcanic twin peaks of the
Pitons which tower majestically over the whole of the south
west of the island

turtles coming ashore in the moonlight at Grande Anse
Beach on St Lucia's north coast between mid-March and the end
of July.

| In the St Lucian
capital of Castries, old wooden buildings of a bygone colonial
era are still to be seen with graceful balconies and
picturesque latticework. Shop till you drop in the market and
duty-free shopping malls. Near the square is the vibrant
Castries central market where vendors sell Indian spices,
local crafts, fruit (particularly delicious varieties of
bananas) and souvenirs. |

| Elsewhere,
sugar plantations define the landscape and nature trails have
been cleared, inviting you to trek or cycle though miles of
rainforest amongst the rich variety of rare exotic wild
orchids, giant ferns and the spectacular, brilliantly plumed
birds of paradise that St Lucia is famous for. |

you long for a little pampering and TLC after all of this, St
Lucia has some of the finest world-class spa resorts. Purists
can visit the Island’s 18th century mineral baths, now
lovingly restored. Here you can enjoy a steaming, healthy,

the world’s only Drive-in volcano where you will be surrounded
