Park |

Kinabalu which is Malaysia's 1st World Heritage Site,
Kinabalu National Park which is located above sea-level is
a paradise of flora and fauna which thrive in the cooler
mountain air. During certain seasons of the month, the
famous Rafflesia, largest flower in the world can be
sighted along certain trails in the Park. The Park is also
a haven for pitcher plants, wild orchids and a multitude
of moths, butterflies and bugs which make for a
fascinating study. Located just 1 hour from the resort,
making Shangri-La's Rasa Ria the closest 5-star resort to
the Kinabalu National Park, the Park is a great option for
day trips out of the resort. |

Poring Hot Springs |

Poring Hot Springs is a natural outlet for
clear spring water heated in the wombs of the earth before
being pushed out. Hot Springs are believed to provide cure
and relieve for pains and aches. In addition to the Hot
Spring pools, a trek along any of the trails at Poring
will bring one alongside a fascinating display of flora,
and sometimes, fauna. Not to be missed is the exciting
Poring Canopy Walk! Poring Hot Springs Poring Hot Springs
is located about 2 hours from the resort and is just a
further 1 hour from the Kinabalu National Park. |

| White-water Rafting
at Kiulu River |
| Kiulu River
which is located just 45 minutes from the resort is one of
the options for white-water rafting in the state. A mostly
uphill drive will bring guests to the starting point which
is prelude to a 1 hour exciting ride through the rapids.
Kiulu River is the tamer of the 2 rivers nearby with the
Padas River which is a further 1 hour from the resort in
the opposite direction providing challenge for the more
adventurous! |
